Sourcing
The slice of the harvest a great chef would have picked.
How we source
HelloRaw is fewer SKUs, better grades, tighter cold chain. We buy direct from select orchards and import lanes, not from open-market mandis. The supplier list is small on purpose — we'd rather know every farm than have the longest catalogue.
Where the fruit comes from
Mango — GI-tagged Ratnagiri Alphonso and Gir Kesar. In season April through July only.
Berries — Mahabaleshwar and Wai for strawberries and raspberries; greenhouse-grown blueberries from Maharashtra (jumbo grade) cold-chained the entire route.
Avocado — Hass avocados from select Indian growers in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, chosen for buttery texture.
Apples — Himachal for Fuji and Granny Smith; Washington imports for Gala and Red Delicious off-season.
Exotic and imported — Thai mango (green and ripe), New Zealand Sun Gold kiwi, Iranian pistachios, Thai mangosteen — all on tight cold-chain import lanes.
Dry fruits — California almonds, Iranian pistachios, Afghan figs, Kashmiri walnuts. Vacuum-packed at the source, not by us.
What we look for
We grade twice — once at the farm or import depot, once at our Kolkata store. The criteria are ripeness window, weight per piece, skin quality, and aroma. Anything that fails goes back to the supplier or to the kitchen. Nothing below the line goes in your bag.
